Better Sleep
Wind down and wake up more rested.
Good sleep starts with routine, light exposure, and caffeine timing — supplements work best as a nudge, not a replacement. These support winding down and falling asleep more easily.
What to look for
Minerals and calming compounds that ease you into deeper sleep.
What the research supports
Recommended supplements
- Magnesium glycinateA well-absorbed, gentle form of magnesium that supports muscle and nervous-system relaxation. A 2025 placebo-controlled trial found it improved sleep in adults reporting poor sleep.
- L-theanineAn amino acid from green tea that promotes a calm, relaxed state without sedation. Trials link it to lower stress, which can make it easier to settle at night.
- MelatoninYour body's own sleep-timing hormone. Meta-analyses show it modestly shortens the time it takes to fall asleep and is most useful for jet lag or a shifted schedule; lower doses often work as well as higher ones.

Things to keep in mind
Melatonin is best used short-term and at a low dose — start with the smallest amount. If you rely on a sleep aid nightly or have ongoing insomnia, talk with your provider.
