Heart Health
Support circulation and healthy blood pressure.
Heart health rests on blood pressure, cholesterol, activity, and not smoking. These supplements support specific cardiovascular markers — best seen as an add-on to the fundamentals, not a substitute.
What to look for
Omega-3s and cofactors that support cardiovascular health.
What the research supports
Recommended supplements
- Omega-3Fish-oil fatty acids reliably lower triglycerides in a dose-dependent way. Note that large trials have not shown clear reductions in heart attacks or strokes, so the benefit is mainly for blood fats.
- CoQ10An antioxidant involved in cellular energy, sometimes used alongside statins. Evidence for blood-pressure and outcome benefits is mixed.
- MagnesiumA meta-analysis of randomized trials found magnesium supplementation produced a small reduction in blood pressure.

Things to keep in mind
Supplements don't replace blood-pressure or cholesterol treatment. Omega-3 can mildly thin the blood, so coordinate with your provider if you take anticoagulants.
